Quantum Girls STEM Club
In determining the most effective way to ‘organise and package’ the learning resources we have reflected the organisational reality of schools. Since the adoption of the national STEM school education strategy in 2015, many schools have appointed a teacher to lead STEM initiatives. Some of these initiatives include after-school or lunchtime STEM clubs.
We would like to offer our STEM Club session resources to schools for them to include in their respective STEM programs. We also invite schools that do not have a STEM club to consider establishing one.
We understand that many STEM Clubs are conducted at lunch time or after hours, and may be taught by a parent, student or contracted volunteer, with a teacher overseeing the program. As a result, we have written the resources for use by a more general audience.
The STEM Club leader will be provided with the necessary content and training to effectively run these clubs. They will have access to a wealth of resources, including online materials such as worksheets and videos, to support their instruction and engagement with students.
Topics are collaborative problem-solving activities involving introductions to key ideas in modern quantum physics.
STEM clubs will also feature short videos of female role models. These sessions aim to inspire and motivate students by showcasing real-world applications of STEM fields. Renowned professionals and experts from various STEM disciplines will share their experiences, insights, and career journeys with students.
These sessions will enhance students' understanding of STEM subjects and ignite their passion for future careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematic
